In addition to standardising and streamlining, IPPS-A integrates soldier personnel and pay processes and data across active, national guard and reserve army units.

IPPS-A is designed to get the whole army national guard onto a single human resources system, with personnel and pay information for more than one million soldiers.

It will also allow the army to discontinue the use of more than 40 different systems.

CACI president and CEO John Mengucci said: “IPPS-A will allow commanders, leaders, and HR professionals in the field to access timely, accurate, and standardised personnel data for their soldiers.

“This deployment demonstrates CACI’s ability to implement enterprise technologies on the largest of scales.”

Furthermore, IPPS-A permits individual soldiers to view their personnel record for the first time in a web-based HR system.

In March this year, the first deployment of IPPS-A application to the army national guard was done.

With this deployment, assisted by the CACI team, the total number of users increases to 340,000.

Currently, the next release of IPPS-A application is under development for the reserve and active-duty soldiers. Once developed, it is expected to increase the number of users to 1.2 million.

G-1 Technology and Business Architecture Integration director Terry Watson said: “The army is winning with the IPPS-A roll out to the national guard and we are excited to get the foundation of a three-in-one component solution fielded.

“Part of the hard work leading to this success has been an aggressive functional approach to Business Process Reengineering (BPR) and standardisation in order to modernise army HR.

“There was lots of hard work by our national guard, USAR and active duty partners to make this such a success.”
