Italian company Iveco Defence Vehicles has signed a contract with the Dutch Ministry of Defence to provide an initial 918 medium multirole protected vehicles named ‘12kN’.
First announced in September, the contract was signed last month at the NIDV exhibition in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The Medium Tactical Vehicle (MTV) Iveco Defence Vehicles has been designed to combine high tactical 4×4 mobility, high crew protection and optimal off-road performance, along with an excellent payload capability.
The MTV features outstanding modularity and system integration capabilities across all range variants, such as soft top, hardtop, pick up, casualty transport and personnel transport, to support different military users ranging from army marines, airforce and navy to special operational units and military police.
During the design of MTV, factors such as high reliability, ease of maintenance and low lifecycle costs were taken into account. These factors guided the choice of the main assemblies towards components that offer proven performance and reliability of the vehicle in the most diversified and demanding environmental conditions.
