Under the $30m order, the company will supply spare parts packages and test equipment for operating the systems over several years.

The company also provides electrical generators for the long-range, all-altitude, all-weather air defence system.

Jenoptik develops power supply units and sub-systems for Patriot in Bavaria, Germany.

Manufactured by Raytheon, Patriot is designed to protect soldiers against advanced threats, such as aircraft, ballistic and cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

The system is currently in service with Egypt, Germany, Greece, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Spain, South Korea, Taiwan, as well as the UAE and the US.

The company's defence and civil systems segment develops mechatronic and sensor systems for civil and military applications.

Its product portfolio ranges from individual components through to complete systems and end products.

The mechatronic products include diesel-electric gensets, as well as electrical machines such as alternators, electric motors or converters, power electronics, heating systems, control units, lift systems and rescue hoists.

The sensor systems include infrared camera systems and laser range-finders which are primarily used in automation technology, as well as security technology and military reconnaissance.
