Thales has won a contract from the Angolan Armed Forces to supply a major communication network to be deployed in 2010.

The innovative mobile radio communication network will use TETRA standards called DigiM@x and can be adapted to both military and civilian applications.

The network features multi-organisation and encryption systems in addition to using COTS routers.

As part of this turnkey contract, Thales will provide the infrastructure, microwave links, management centres and radio communications base stations.
