The Royal Thai Army has suspended participation of its soldiers in overseas military training, Thai Army’s anti-Covid-19 unit director General Nattapon Srisawat was quoted by Pattayamail.com as saying. This decision was taken after nine soldiers out of the 151 soldiers, who returned from a joint exercise with the US force codenamed Lightning Forge 2020, were infected with the coronavirus. These soldiers returned from Hawaii to the country on 22 July. During the Covid-19 pandemic period, only necessary training events are being permitted.

The Pentagon has deployed over 250 army medical troops to five hospitals in Texas to strengthen Covid-19 response capabilities. Texas is currently reeling under the aftermath of Hurricane Hanna and also has the highest rate of Covid-19 infections in the country. US Army North deployed three UAMTFs of army reservists to hospitals in Rio Grande Valley and Coastal Bend regions. The medical troops were sent at the request of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The count of Covid-19 active cases among US service members and their family members across Japan has come down by 50 to 139 over the past few days. US Forces Japan commander Lt. Gen. Kevin Schneider said that the US armed forces are encouraging its personnel and their families to arrive via Yokota Air Base in Tokyo instead of other airports in the Tokyo area, reported Stripes.com. US Army Japan based in Kanagawa prefecture reported four new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday.
