BAE Systems has introduced its comprehensive range of M-Code Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver solutions, designed to enhance warfighter precision across all domains.
Showcased at the Joint Navigation Conference in Cincinnati, the product suite is designed to deliver reliable GPS capabilities for US military forces, said the company.
M-Code is a military GPS signal that enhances resistance to jamming and bolsters security features.
BAE Systems noted that its Common GPS Modules (CGMs), which are certified for security, use this advanced M-Code signal to offer a full spectrum of GPS receiver options.
The company's offerings extend from compact and energy-efficient M-Code GPS units suitable for applications with strict size, weight, and power (SWaP) constraints, to more resilient receivers that come with integrated anti-jam antenna electronics for use in particularly demanding conditions.
BAE Systems Navigation and Sensor Systems director Luke Bishop said: “There is now an M-Code version of every GPS receiver created by BAE Systems.
“The open-architecture capability of our products can be tailored to solve our customers’ most pressing battlefield problems quickly and at an affordable price.”
The array of M-Code receivers from BAE Systems are for airborne systems, weaponry, ground platforms, and even handheld devices. The lineup includes models such as ASR-M, DIGAR-300M, MPE-M, MicroGRAM-M, NavFire-M, NavGuide, NavStrike-M, NavStorm-M, and SABR-M.
BAE Systems has announced that it expects to start shipping its NavGuide handheld units to customers this year.
In addition, the company is poised to supply a new generation of GPS products that incorporate Military GPS User Equipment (MGUE) Increment 2 technology.
This advancement stems from the MGUE Increment 2 Miniature Serial Interface (MSI) programme and aims to elevate the performance of military position, navigation, and timing (PNT) devices while enhancing their resilience against potential disruptions or attacks on GPS signals.
With a track record of supplying selective availability anti-spoofing module products to over 45 nations worldwide, BAE Systems has distributed its diverse M-Code GPS receivers—available in multiple configurations and capabilities—to both US military branches and international partners through foreign military sales channels.
