
Germany-based technology company Rheinmetall has finalised the acquisition of Stascheit, a specialist in ammunition detection and recovery based in Gardelegen/Saxony-Anhalt.
With this deal, Rheinmetall Project Solutions has expanded its range of offerings in explosive ordnance disposal (EOD). Stascheit will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rheinmetall Project Solutions.
The company anticipates that this addition will contribute to achieving a target revenue of approximately €80m ($91.2m) annually during the coming years.
The financial details of the deal remain undisclosed.
Rheinmetall and Stascheit have previously collaborated, with various projects completed.
This encompasses the detection of various unexploded ordnances in the North Sea and also the clearance of munition-contaminated areas before the installation of subsea cables in the Baltic Sea and Spain.

Their expertise in ammunition disposal is expected to enable Rheinmetall Project Solutions to provide comprehensive end-to-end solutions and better meet customer needs in the EOD sector.

Rheinmetall Project Solutions will continue to collaborate with Stascheit to further enhance the efficiency and safety of ammunition disposal operations.
This acquisition follows the delivery of the initial Boxer Skyranger 30, a cannon-based air defence vehicle, to the Bundeswehr, Germany’s unified forces, for verification purposes in February 2025.
The Boxer Skyranger 30 will undergo a series of tests by the German military, with operational training for users expected to begin in spring 2025.
