Tempus Applied Solutions has secured a position in a five-year blanket purchase contract to provide airlift services for the US Africa Command (AFRICOM) Special Operations Command Africa (SOCAF) division.
The company will provide fixed and rotary wing services for company-owned and operated aircraft, including the Pilatus PC-12, the Gulfstream III and the Cessna Caravan, in countries such as Mali, Senegal, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Algeria.

The contract also covers the provision for logistics, security, personnel management and passenger services, as well as cargo services to one of six of the US Defense Department´s (DoD) geographic combatant commands.
Tempus CEO Scott Terry said: "This mission for AFRICOM is a focal point and substantial growth area for Tempus’ international operations. We are committed to developing the fleet and personnel to accommodate AFRICOM’s needs.
"Tempus has a significant track record in providing services throughout Africa, having flown more than 3,000 hours in the continent, primarily in East and Central Africa, over the past six years."
Services under the contract are slated to begin in May.
