Raytheon has opened a new cyber facility in Augusta, Georgia, to provide cybersecurity capabilities to the US Department of Defense (DoD) agencies.
The new Augusta facility will support the US Army Cyber Command as it relocates to Fort Gordon, which is one of only a few military installations projected to grow over the next few years, Raytheon said in a statement.

The US Army Cyber Command focuses on conducting integrated electronic warfare, information and cyberspace operations to ensure freedom of action in and through cyberspace.
Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services business president Dave Wajsgras said: "Our DoD customers have come to rely on Raytheon to solve their toughest cybersecurity challenges, from cyber hardening to computer network defence and training.
"Building our presence in Augusta allows us to strengthen our partnership with the army's new Cyber Center of Excellence at Fort Gordon."
The US Army plans to create 2,600 military, 900 civilian and 200 contractor jobs at Fort Gordon by 2019, and boost the post's student population by more than 500 service members every year.
