Mission Ready Services has received its first order to provide no-contact riot shield covers for use in a military application.

The order, valued at $9,000, requires the company to supply 12 no-contact riot shield covers in total.

Mission Ready Services CTO Francisco Martinez said: “We strive to meet the changing demands being placed on military and law enforcement personnel and we believe this product provides them with another tool to help them successfully complete their mission.

"When activated, the shield cover releases a strong electrical pulse, an electrical shock sound and a spark that can deter an assailant."

“In addition to the application for this order, we have developed no-contact shield covers for riot control units and for correctional facilities."

When activated, the shield cover releases a strong electrical pulse, an electrical shock sound and a spark that can deter an assailant.

The no-contact technology is integrated into a textile composite that can be applied into any type of shield cover, including riot control and correctional facilities types, as well as other form factors, the company said in a statement.

Production of the no-contact shield covers will be carried out at the company's Protect The Force facility in Jacksboro, Tennessee, and the key electronic components will be manufactured at the company's laboratory in Boston, Massachusetts.

In November this year, the company delivered the first shipment of Flex9Armor tactical police shirt to a US County Sheriff Department SWAT unit.
