US Army Contracting Command TACOM has awarded a contract to Meggitt Training Systems to provide equipment for live-fire training ranges at US army installations worldwide.

Under the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract, the company will manufacture and install stationary and moving infantry, as well as armour target mechanisms and control systems.

The company will supply installations at the Fort Stewart modified record fire and Detroit arsenal test #5 ranges under initial contracts.

Meggitt is one of five companies competing for the $475m fixed-price contract. The others are Lockheed Martin, Action Target, Strategic Systems and Saab Training.
