Mack Defense has partnered with JWF Defense Systems to assemble the Lakota 6x6 vehicle system.

Powered by a US-built engine, the Lakota can travel at top speed of 62mph with a range of up to 1,400 miles.

The vehicle is available in five variants, and accommodate nearly 12 personnel.

It provides a fully armoured hull and its lighter weight allows for improved manoeuvrability and off-road mobility..

Designed to meet the needs of a variety of missions, the vehicle's capabilities were tested in multiple locations throughout the US including California, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

Mack Defense president Ryan Werling said: "The Lakota 6x6 delivers the capabilities of an 8x8, but at a fraction of the cost.

"Not only did the Lakota meet our performance expectations, but it exceeded them in many areas."

The partnership will also see the companies producing the vehicle's armoured hull.

Werling further added: "We look forward to working with JWF Defense Systems on the assembly of these vehicle solutions along with production of their armoured hulls.

"JWF Defense has a long tradition of supporting the US Department of Defense, and we are excited to have them as part of our team. In addition to the partnership for the Lakota, we also believe there is an opportunity for JWF to participate in the assembly of other armoured vehicle programs that we are pursuing around the globe."
