The US Army National Guard Bureau has awarded a $129.43m modification contract to Raytheon Missile Systems.

The contract will see Raytheon procure tube-launched, optically-tracked wireless guided missiles for use by the US Army, the US Marine Corps, Bahrain, and Morocco.

The contractual work is scheduled to be completed in August 2018.

The US Army Contracting Command has awarded a $52m contract modification to Cubic Global Defense to assist rotational and pre-deployment training exercises at the US Army Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) through June 2017.

Under the contract, Cubic will offer support services for training exercises and technical support at the JRTC.

The Swedish Defence Material Administration has awarded a $14m-worth ammunition supply contract to Saab.

Under the contract, Saab will supply Carl-Gustaf weapon system ammunition to the Swedish Army through 2017.

A $1.15bn request has been made by Saudi Arabia for the acquisition of M1A2S Abrams main battle tanks and M88Al/A2 Hercules recovery tanks from the US, through the foreign military sale process.

The new equipment will improve Saudi Arabia’s defence capability against current and future threats.

The prime contractor for the proposed sale is General Dynamics Land Systems.

The US Missile Defense Agency has contracted Orbital ATK for the development and manufacture of medium-range ballistic missile target rockets in support of testing missile defence systems.

The $400m-worth contract, which is part of the MRBM T3c2 target programme, has a base period of four years and options extending through 2024.
