Aselsan and FNSS have commenced serial production of the self-propelled low altitude air defence gun system (KORKUT) for the Turkish Land Forces.
The production follows the completion of the design and pre-production phase of the Korkut project.

The Korkut system comprises a command and control vehicle and weapon system vehicle to complete air defence operations.
The command and control vehicle is capable of detecting and tracking targets with its 3D search radar, as well as developing a local air picture, evaluating threats and assigning targets to the weapon system vehicles.
FNSS said that the vehicles have been designed to trace the target with a fire control radar, and produce firepower with two 35mm guns using fragmentation ammunition.
Both the weapon system vehicles and the command and control vehicles were built using the ACV-30 chassis.

By GlobalDataThe chassis is a tracked carrying platform that is specifically designed to carry command and control, large-scale mobile radar, gunfire support, self-propelled artillery and missile systems.
The ACV-30’s amphibious capability distinguishes Korkut from all other existing medium-calibre self-propelled air defence systems on the market today, FNSS stated.
The Korkut system can conduct missions with heavy armoured platforms, such as the main battle tank and armoured combat vehicles.
It can also fire on the move, and manoeuvre natural obstacles such as river crossings, offering a significant tactical advantage, according to the company.
The first batch of ACV-30 vehicles to be manufactured by FNSS would be delivered to Aselsan in May 2018.
