The US is planning to sell $60bn of arms to Saudi Arabia over the next ten years in what promises to be the largest arms sale by the US to a foreign country.

The proposed deal, which includes $30bn of Apache and Black Hawk attack helicopters, is in addition to the already-offered 84 F-15 fighter jets.

The deal is expected to win Congressional support in September and could be executed in four phases, according to presstv.ir.

Saudi Arabia invested $37bn in weapons between 2001 and 2008.
