The Government of Canada has selected Textron Systems to submit a proposal to provide its tactical armoured patrol vehicle (TAPV).
Under the proposal, Textron will offer a 4×4 wheeled armoured vehicle designed to provide survivability, mobility and versatility in full-scale operations over tough landscapes.
The vehicle design is also aimed at shielding troops from roadside bombs and blasts while providing large power reserves for future electronics enhancements.
Textron Marine & Land Systems General Manager Tom Walmsley said the combat vehicle was tested to confirm ballistic, mine blast, mobility and reliability levels to meet Canadian military requirements.
“We are offering the Canadian military the ultimate balance of survivability, mobility and lethality in a modern, ergonomically designed platform. It is a cost effective, game-changing solution for Canada’s national security requirements for the next 25 years,” he said.
