The French Army will receive the FELIN equipment, an integrated soldier system in September 2010.
The FELIN (fantassin à equipements et liaisons intégrés) system is specifically designed to improve the operational functions of the dismounted soldier through improved protection, observation, C4I (command, control, computers, communications and intelligence), weapons use, mobility and support.

France’s defence procurement agency (DGA) has awarded a contract to Sagem, a Safran Group company for the production and delivery of FELIN systems.
Under the contract, Sagem will deliver a total of 22,588 systems to the French Army.
Initial deliveries will equip the army’s 1st Regiment followed by the 13th Chasseur Alpins battalion. Four regiments a year will be equipped with the systems from 2011.
