The US Department of Defence’s Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organisation (JIEDDO) has awarded a contract to Lockheed Martin to provide technical support to its operations.

Under $460m of task orders, Lockheed will provide the JIEDDO Counter-IED analytical support teams with technical expertise in operational-level military operations.

The company will also provide intelligence operations research / systems analysis, operations-intelligence fusion, and analysis to support deployed US and coalition forces in counter-IED operations.

Work under the three-year contract is being carried out in Northern Virginia and in the Central Command area of operations.
