Wincanton is to provide logistics services for British Army vehicles under a contract awarded by BAE Systems.

Under the five-year contract, the company will provide logistics services for four military vehicles – the Challenger 2 main battle tank, Bulldog FV430 armoured fighting vehicle, Panther light armoured vehicle and the AS90 self-propelled gun platform.

Wincanton will supply all the crucial armoured vehicle components, from air filters to gearboxes, including new replacement parts and repaired items.

The company will use its barcode and labelling production system to fulfil compliance and security objectives through the complete end-to-end supply chain.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin on 1 June 2010.
