The Turkish Ministry of Defence has awarded a contract to Aselsan to develop and upgrade air defence systems for the armoured and mechanised troops of Turkish Army.

Under the €120.3m ($163.7m) contract, Aselsan will design and develop self-propelled low-altitude air defence gun system project and 35mm Oerlikon fire control system modernisation and procurement project.

The 35mm Oerlikon fire control system modernisation and procurement project is intended to perform battle management, command, control, communication and intelligence functions of low-altitude air defence missile systems.
