The US Army has awarded a contract to Textron Systems to provide software development, training and support for the future intelligence framework.

Under the $48.5m contract, Overwatch, an operating unit of Textron Systems will continue to develop and maintain the distributed common ground system (DCGS) army application framework (DAF) as well as the DAF software development kit.

In addition, Overwatch will also continue to develop and maintain major system components including the tactical entity database, messaging and interoperability, and visualisation and analysis tools.

The five-year contract was awarded by the US Army Intelligence, Electronic Warfare and Sensors (IEW&S) Program Executive Office.
