The US Army has awarded a $110.3m contract to General Dynamics (GD) to modernise its classroom training technology.

Under the one-year contract, General Dynamics Information Technology, a GD subsidiary, will deliver a digital platform for army schoolhouse instructors to conduct training and communicate with remote training facilities and reserves.

General Dynamics Information Technology senior vice president Zannie Smith said the company will use its systems-integration expertise to execute the technology advancement programme.

In addition, the company will provide engineering, design, systems integration, procurement, staging, installation, testing and training as well as technical services support to the Army Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command.

The order is part of information technology enterprise technology solutions-2 services contract vehicle.
