The US Army has awarded a $257m contract to technology and manufacturing company Honeywell Technology Solutions (HTSI) to provide logistic services for the armed forces fighting in Iraq.

Under the five-year contract, the company will provide the 402nd Army Field Support Brigade with logistics planning, supply services, maintenance management services, property and construction activities at 11 locations in Iraq.

HTSI president Vince Trim said the logistics services for the armed forces were meant to increase the stability and capacity of the brigade by maintaining the safety and reliability of facilities and equipment.

The contract was awarded by the US Army Sustainment Command, and the work will be carried out over the next five years.
