The US Army Environmental Command has awarded a $8.93m performance-based task order to Weston Solutions for environmental clean-up services at four army units in Hawaii.

The four army units include Fort Shafter, Schofield Barracks, Tripler Army Medical Center and Wheeler Army Airfield.

The six-year task order includes achieving approved remedial investigation at ten military munitions response programme (MMRP) sites, as well as at at three compliance-related clean-up sites.

The task of handling potential explosives safety and healthily, and the environmental issues caused by past Department of Defense munitions-related activities falls under the MMRP, which is formed under the defence environmental restoration programme.
