The US Army has selected advanced communication and network technology supplier Comtech Telecommunications for the $11.1m movement-tracking system (MTS) contract. The US Army's MTS provides two-way encrypted text messaging and global positioning between mobile and fixed assets. <

The US Army has selected advanced communication and network technology supplier Comtech Telecommunications for the $11.1m movement-tracking system (MTS) contract.

The US Army's MTS provides two-way encrypted text messaging and global positioning between mobile and fixed assets.

Comtech will supply satellite network bandwidth, as well as installation, training and technical support services.

Comtech Mobile Datacom Corporation was awarded the MTS contract in 1999 with total orders of $546.2m already received as part of the $605.1m deal.
