Saab South Africa will develop and supply fire control computers for use on New Generation Infantry Combat Vehicles (NGICVs) for the South African National Defence Force (SANDF).

The follow-on deal is awarded by Denel Land Systems, which won the contract from Armaments Corporation of South Africa for the development of the NGICVs for the SANDF.

The order includes manufacturing of five variants of the NGICVs to be used in different roles by the SANDF.

Saab is responsible for the overall design and integration of the components in the fire control computer. It will also incorporate the complete unit in combat vehicles.

Initial development work has begun with final deliveries scheduled for 2015.

Saab South Africa will also provide life-time maintenance and repair support.
