The US Army is training Iraqi forces in fibre-optic cable technology for use in military communications systems. Iraqi Army leaders are gaining technical expertise in installation, servicing and maintenance of fibre-optic cables – skills they will pass on to Iraqi soldiers. <

The 1st Calvary Division's Company C, Division Special Troops Battalion of the US is providing the hands-on training.
