BAE Systems Oasys has delivered the smallest thermal monocular, StalkIR, to the US Army to support ongoing counter-improvised explosive device (IED) missions.
The device, also known as universal thermal monocular, serves as a surveillance tool and a weapon sight and enables warfighters to effectively detect IEDs and other threats on the battlefield.
The system features dual-band aiming lasers, a modular rail interface for mounting on weapons and can be used to detect, recognise, identify and engage threats in all weather conditions.
The StalkIR, can also be used in a handheld mode.
