The Ugandan Army has contracted Israeli manufacturer Aeronautics Defense Systems to provide two Orbiter 2 unmanned air vehicles.

Orbiter 2 is a compact and lightweight system with a 1m-long fuselage and a 3m wingspan, and is designed for use in military and homeland security missions.

The system enables over-the-hill reconnaissance missions, low-intensity conflicts and urban warfare operations as well as any close range intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) mission.

The company is also developing an Orbiter 3 UAV, which will be capable of carrying a 3kg electro-optical payload and have an endurance of more than ten hours, according to Flight Global.
