China’s apparel industry registered a 0.6% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 0.1% in November 2021 when compared with October 2021.

Out of the apparel industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.74% share in November 2021, recording a decrease of 0.05% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in China’s apparel industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.25% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s apparel industry in November 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 84.75% in November 2021, registering a flat growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 8.5% share, an increase of 100% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 4.5%, registering a 14.29% decline from October 2021.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 1.75%, up 600% over the previous month.

Top five apparel companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 4.22% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s apparel industry during November 2021 over October 2021.

JD posted 154 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a drop of 10.47% over the previous month, followed by Alibaba Group Holding with 142 jobs and a 4.41% growth. Amazon with 77 IT jobs and NIKE with 18 jobs, recorded a 35.09% growth and a 1700% growth, respectively, while adidas recorded a decline of 69.23% with 4 job postings during November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.25%, flat growth from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.5% share, registered an increase of 34.69% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9% share, up 38.46% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.25%, recording a month-on-month decline of 54.55%.
