Hyundai Motor is the leading patent filer in automated drone battery management, followed by DJI Technology, and Boeing, a major US aerospace manufacturer that builds drones including the upcoming MQ-25 and MQ-28 UAVs for the US military, has patent activity for battery management systems, filing 33 patents from 2015 to 2024.

Some other key filers in the space include Wing Aviation, Honda Motor, and Alarmcom.

In terms of application diversity General Electric leads the pack, while Boeing and Toyota Motor stood in the second and third positions, respectively. By means of geographic reach, Deutsche Telekom held the top position, followed by Alarmcom and Nileworks.
