Stauder Technologies Introduces GustoFires™ — A Digitally Aided Fire Support Training Solution for Modern Joint Operations

Stauder Technologies today announced the launch of GustoFires™, a tablet-based training and mission rehearsal solution designed to support Digitally Aided Fire Support (DAFS) operations. Built on Stauder’s JITC‑validated Joint Effects Coordination Link (JECL®) software suite, GustoFires™ delivers realistic, operationally relevant Joint Fires Observer (JFO) training for modern, digitally enabled forces.

GustoFires™ is designed as a DAFS Reference Architecture Specification (RAS) 1 Basic Mission concept demonstrator and training tool, enabling JFOs to practice digital fires workflows in both classroom and field environments. The solution supports Variable Message Format (VMF) interoperability and allows (JFO) trainees to exchange mission‑critical messages with simulated Fire Support Elements across IP‑based and narrowband tactical networks.

Operationally relevant digital fires training

Built on Stauder’s JECL® communications software suite, GustoFires supports the full spectrum of mission‑critical messaging required for digital operations. The system detects and connects to a wide range of military devices, including tactical radios, GPS sources, laser range finders, and video downlink receivers.

Key capabilities include MIL‑STD‑6017B/C VMF support, target data exchange, simulated radios over Wi‑Fi, IP‑based tactical networks, narrowband radio integration, and Android tablet deployment.
