Bullet-resistant armored vehicles
SLDSL’s armored vehicle division, established in 2007 under the technical knowhow of a leading UK firm, has become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of armored vehicles.
SLDSL has unveiled an exclusive range of defence specialised protective vehicles for enhancing combat efficiency of police forces engaged in major anti-Naxalite operations in the rebel strong holds across India.
SLDSL has designed specialised protective models based on modern technology for armed and police forces, including:
- DHRUV – ATC (armored troop carrier),
- DRONA – MPV (blast and mine protective vehicle)
- VIPER (fast moving combat BP vehicle)
- DHRUV EXECUTIVE (BP patrol vehicles)
- HYNA – (light combat BP vehicle)

SLDSL has designed these armored vehicles keeping in mind the heavy protection requirements for Naxalite affected areas in India. In the last four years, the company has put in tremendous amount of time, money and effort including technical know-how into producing India’s first anti-terror armored vehicles which exceed the European B7 protection level.

Blast-protective materials
The side walls, including belly, are made of blast-protective materials including steel, which provide excellent all round protection against heavy blasts.
In order to have a perfect combination of power with load, SLDSL fabricates composite armor in-house, using our own technical expertise.
Our range of armour systems includes spall liners, add-on composites, ceramic armour, shaped armour and personal protection.
SLDSL’s armour technology is combat-tested and proven. We have the capability to work on a variety of platforms and design bespoke protection systems in accordance with the STANAG 4569 standard.
Applique armour for military vehicles
Our applique armour is designed for military vehicles. It uses a combination of multi-layer composites and ceramics to obtain the lightest weight and highest performance possible.
The applique armour is designed to be retro fitted to the vehicle to withstand ammunitions that can penetrate the original armour of the hull. SLDSL is one of the very few companies in the world which have knowledge and in-house capabilities to process both soft and hard armour on the same floor.
As an AS 9100 and ISO 9001:2008 certified company, SLDSL products and solutions are tested and certified by the leading independent laboratories in the world such as HP White (USA), TBRL and DRDO (India).

SLDSL has been among the largest manufacturers of helmets in last two years. Helmets from SLDSL are designed and manufactured to offer maximum protection and comfort to the wearer.
Ballistic jackets, vests and shields
SLDSL offers a variety of ballistic jackets and vests for various applications and usages that meet the required threat levels. These high -performance jackets and vests are capable of providing protection levels up to NIJ level IIIA.

Bomb blankets
SLDSL bomb suppression blanket provides immediate protection against blasts and fragments in event of an explosive device detonating before it can be diffused. It is effective against most pipe bombs, hand grenades and fragments caused by pressure or electrical explosions.
