Romania-led multinational exercise Scorpions Fury 18 is set to conclude at the Romanian Land Forces Joint National Training Center in Cincu, Brașov County.

Approximately 1,800 soldiers from Romania and other Nato Allies, in addition to 250 pieces of equipment, are involved in the exercise.

The other allied Nato nations involved in the drill are Bulgaria, Canada, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, and Spain.

The participants include Romanian and foreign soldiers from the Allied Land Command (LANDCOM) from Izmir, Turkey), Romanian Land Forces Staff, South-East Multinational Division, Joint Multinational Training Center, the units subordinated to the South-East Multinational Brigade.

Personnel from the structures affiliated during the exercise, which include 38th Mechanized Battalion from Bulgaria, 6th Cavalry Regiment from Italy and 2nd Pandur Battalion from Portugal, also participated in the exercise.

The units subordinated to the South-East Multinational Brigade include 20th Infantry Battalion, 22nd Infantry Battalion, 26th Infantry Battalion, 325th Artillery Battalion, 205th AD Battalion, 116th Logistic Support Battalion, and the Polish Military Contingent.

During Scorpions Fury 18, troops from the participating countries conducted computer-assisted training, as well as carried out a series of live-firing and other field training activities at the Cincu combat training centre.

The drills aimed to assess and evaluate the readiness level of the South-East Multinational Brigade Headquarters.

Located in Craiova, Romania, the South-East Multinational Brigade is part of Nato’s enhanced forward presence in the eastern part of the alliance and the Black Sea region.
