With the agreement, both the Netherlands and the US will bolster their collaboration on several military equipment and operations.

Under the partnership, the two countries will be committed in exchanging military personnel, such as pilots, liaison officers and technicians, as well as information about the latest technological systems.

The agreement has been designed to primarily support large-material projects, such as the replacement of the Boeing CH-47 Chinook and AH-64 Apache helicopters.

“The CH-47 is an advanced multi-mission helicopter that incorporates a fully integrated, digital cockpit management system and advanced cargo-handling capabilities.”

The cooperation will also support the acquisition of General Atomics Aeronautical Systems’ MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), in addition to the exchange of data during replacements of submarines and frigates.
