The Netherlands Defense Material Organization (DMO) has selected Switzerland-based company Safran Vectronix for the delivery of 1,000 units of Moskito TI lightweight, uncooled thermal imaging and targeting systems.
The delivery of the systems will be carried out as part of the Thermal Handheld Imaging System (THIS) optronics programme.

Safran Vectronix’s thermal imaging and targeting system will be delivered to several components of the Dutch Armed and Special Forces.
Moskito TI is a handheld system that integrates sensors and modules, including an uncooled thermal imager, high-grade direct view optics (DVO), low light TV (LLTV) channel, a laser rangefinder (LRF), a digital magnetic compass (DMC) and a global positioning system (GPS) receiver.
With a weight of 1.3kg, the system can be used by the Dutch Armed Forces to address a large variety of operational requirements, such as day and night observation, target acquisition, artillery and fire correction, forward observer and Joint Tactical Air Controller, in all-weather conditions.
Equipped with enhanced command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) capabilities, which helps meet Nato interconnectivity requirements, Moskito TI has a premium optical day view supporting day operations without power consumption, and thermal imaging for detection and situational awareness day or night, and low light imaging for positive identification.
