The Estonian Ministry of Defence has delivered cybersecurity training and cyber-range exercises to cyber defenders in Singapore.

Training has been delivered to the Singapore Ministry of Defence and the Singapore Armed Forces following a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that was signed on 19 January 2018.

Provided by the Estonian Defence Forces Cyber Range (EDFCyR), the cybersecurity training was carried out at the Cyber Defence Test and Evaluation Centre (CyTEC) in Singapore.

"Cooperation in cyberspace is the most cost-effective way to build relations between nations at such a long distance, given that both countries face similar threats and opportunities in the cyberspace."

Estonian Defence Ministry Cyber Range and Cyber Exercises executive programme manager Andri Rebane said: “Cooperation in cyberspace is the most cost-effective way to build relations between nations at such a long distance, given that both countries face similar threats and opportunities in the cyberspace.”

The EDFCyR is responsible for delivering training opportunities from individual level training to large scale international exercises.

The training exercises have enabled the Estonian Ministry of Defence to improve cyber defence capabilities, in addition to promoting entrepreneurship.

Singapore Armed Forces Cyber Defence Group ME4 Derick Ang said: “The cyber defence training has provided participants from the Ministry of Defence and the Singapore Armed Forces with key concepts on cyber defence techniques and perspectives, allowing us to better respond to potential cyber threats.

“The training included hands-on practical sessions, which made learning engaging and interactive.”
