Airbus has been awarded a contract by the French Joint Services Directorate of Infrastructure Networks and Information Systems (DIRISI) to supply Symphonie internet protocol (IP) telephony system.

The Symphonie system will provide telephony service for 270,000 users of the French Ministry of the Armed Forces across 1,500 sites in France, under the Descartes programme.

The scope of the seven-year contract will include overhaul and deployment of modern telephony technology, new cybersecurity management centres, network management centres, and support for different organisations under the ministry.

Estonia’s Centre for Defence Investment has renewed the armoured vehicle repair and maintenance contract with Milrem LCM, a part of Patria Group.

The contract extension will allow Milrem LCM to continue to provide lifecycle management services for Patria XA-180 and XA-188 armoured vehicles until 2022.

Alion Science and Technology has received a research and development support contract from the US Department of Defense (DoD). The contract also includes a five-year extension option.

The company will support the DoD in research and development of new solutions to counter chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high-yield explosives (CBRNE) threats.

Alion will provide equipment, supplies, and radiological and nuclear defence systems to the US troops until November 2027.

Kuwait & Gulf Link Transport (KGL) has been selected to provide logistics and distribution services for the US military troops in the Gulf region.

Awarded by the US Defense Logistics Agency, the $690m deal will see KGL procure, import, store and distribute food products from the US to approximately 20,000 US troops in Kuwait, Iraq and Jordan.

KGL will deliver logistics and distribution services primarily from its hub in Kuwait.
