In addition, the Republic of Lithuania will be participating in the Nato-led multinational Resolute Support operation in Afghanistan with an aim to help train the Afghan National Security Forces.

Launched in 2015, the operation is a Nato effort taken to train and assist the Afghan National Security Forces along with some of the ministries of the country.
It has replaced the combat International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) mission that was carried out over more than a decade.
