Elbit Systems has secured a contract worth approximately $235m to supply EXTRA-MR rockets and PULS rocket artillery systems to an unnamed European customer.
The award is being made under a government-to-government agreement between Israel’s Ministry of Defence and the customer country’s Ministry of Defence.

In a 19 October release, Elbit said the contract will be delivered over three years.
The package includes the medium-range version of the company’s EXTRA precision-guided rocket, PULS launchers, additional rocket-artillery-related platforms and integrated logistics support.
EXTRA-MR is designed for mid-range operations and can engage targets at distances of up to 80km, according to Elbit.
The company said the rocket can be used against targets including command and communications centres, logistics installations and transport infrastructure.
The rocket is compatible with Elbit’s PULS multiple-launch rocket system, which is capable of firing different types of ammunition from a common launcher position.
Elbit states that the system can use munitions with ranges of up to 300km, depending on the rocket type. The launcher’s two pods can also fire Accular 122mm rockets, Accular 160mm rockets, and Predator Hawk rockets.
Besides PULS, EXTRA-MR is also compatible with existing command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) architectures.
Elbit Systems president and chief executive Bezhalel Machlis said: “This contract award further strengthens Elbit Systems’ position as a global leader in rocket artillery systems and reflects the growing international demand for our advanced rocket and launcher capabilities.
“The PULS systems and precision rocket solutions are recognized among the leading systems in their category and have been selected by a growing number of customers worldwide, including European and Nato member states.”
