The partnership takes effect immediately, with both companies maintaining separate operations while jointly pursuing opportunities aligned with Canadian defence needs.

Their initial collaboration will include participation in the International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Kielce, Poland, scheduled for 8–11 September 2026.

Base Camp Connect president Jean-Philippe Grondin said: “In modern warfare, the ability to communicate is the ability to act. This partnership strengthens our collective ability to put sovereign Canadian technology in the hands of our troops on the ground who face the realities of modern operations.”

Base Camp Connect provides systems that unify radio, voice, and data communications, supporting interoperability across the various platforms and equipment fielded by the Canadian military.

Designed for deployment in operational settings, the company’s hardware and software including vehicle-mounted configurations are compatible with established NATO networking standards, certified for security, and available for rapid procurement through existing federal agreements.

Marconi Technologies also offer range of tactical mesh radio products built to deliver high-capacity, low-latency communications. Its ORION series utilises proprietary technologies and artificial intelligence for spectrum management, making it suitable for use across land, maritime, air, and autonomous systems.

In addition, the company’s ARCHER troposcatter terminals provide extended reach, ensuring long-distance connectivity beyond the limitations of standard radio links.

Combined, the companies aim to address the ongoing challenge of connecting a wide range of communications equipment used by allied forces during coalition operations.

By integrating Base Camp Connect’s interoperability solutions with Marconi Technologies’ radio frequency and transmission infrastructure, the partnership is positioned to provide a Canadian communications capability suitable for deployment throughout CAF brigades.

Marconi Technologies chief operating officer and Canadian market president said Faith Rhodes said: “Both organisations have been building and refining military communications systems for years.

“Bringing our capabilities together creates a more complete solution — one that is Canadian-designed, Canadian-manufactured, and purpose-built for the operational realities our forces face.”
