Alongside the Trophy APS units, the contract includes spare parts, training packages, courses, and logistical equipment required for the ongoing support and maintenance of these systems.

The Leopard 2A8 tanks will feature Trophy APS as a standard component, which allows participating countries to maintain a consistent configuration and achieve interoperability across their fleets.

With this contract, EuroTrophy’s system will address protection needs for armoured vehicles within NATO forces, including those required on the eastern front.

According to EuroTrophy, Trophy APS is designed to address increasingly sophisticated anti-tank attacks, including simultaneous threats arriving from multiple directions and at varying distances.

The system is described as capable of detecting, classifying, engaging, and neutralising a range of chemical energy (CE) and hollow-charge threats, including anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs), anti-tank rockets, high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) tank rounds, rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), and recoilless rifles.

It has been operational since 2011 and is already deployed by NATO forces on platforms including the Leopard 2, Abrams M1, and Merkava IV main battle tanks.

The system is also in use on lighter vehicles such as the Boxer, Patria AMV, Namer APC and several infantry fighting vehicles.

EuroTrophy, a joint venture between GDELS, KNDS, and RAFAEL, operates as the European hub for Trophy APS integration and support.

The company provides vehicle integration support, maintenance services, and through-life technical assistance for its systems.

In May last year, EuroTrophy formed a partnership with Finnish manufacturer Patria to fit Trophy APS onto Patria’s AMV XP 8×8 vehicle.
