The agreement falls under an existing framework contract between the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration and Saab, which allows Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia to purchase Carl-Gustaf M4 systems and ammunition as well as AT4 weapons.
Both the AT4 and Carl-Gustaf systems are designed for ground combat operations, with the AT4 being a disposable weapon and the Carl-Gustaf serving as a man-portable, multi-role recoilless weapon.
Saab business area Dynamics head Görgen Johansson said: “We look forward to continuing to provide the Lithuanian forces with the reliable, highly effective capabilities of our support weapon AT4 and specialised ammunition for the Carl-Gustaf system.
“Our solutions give soldiers precision and ease-of-use, enabling them to carry out their missions safely and with confidence.”
