Teijin Aramid has expanded its high-strength fibres product range with the launch of a new lightweight ballistic fabric, Twaron ComForte SB3, for body armour.

The new Twaron ComForte SB3 is based on advanced Twaron ultra micro yarn and is claimed to be effective against high-energy semi-jacketed projectiles such as .357 MAG JSP and .44 MAG SJHP.

With trauma attenuation and comfort, Twaron ComForte SB3 meets demanding protection requirements level II and IIIA in accordance with NIJ standard 0101.06.

The new fabric facilitates production of lighter body armour with flexibility and long-term performance consistency to cater to the need of law enforcement officers and soldiers to move easily while being fully protected.

Twaron ComForte SB3, which combines the ballistic efficiency of a unidirectional laminate and body armour flexibility, improves body armour shape.

The improved shape ability is claimed to meet the needs of the increasing number of female law enforcement officers.
