Saab has entered into an agreement with the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation to supply the Carl-Gustaf M4 weapon systems.
The order, valued at Skr510m ($54m), also covers ammunition and training equipment.

Deliveries under this contract are scheduled from 2026 to 2028.

The Carl-Gustaf M4 (CGM4) is a man-portable weapon system designed for use by infantry in various operational environments.
The system can be used in both anti-insurgency and peacekeeping operations as well as traditional military conflicts, including urban settings.

The recoilless rifle is less than 1,000mm in length and weighs under 7kg, allowing operation by a two-person team consisting of a gunner and a loader.
The CGM4 is capable of firing a range of ammunition types targeting armoured vehicles, landing craft, bunkers, and obstacles, as well as engaging targets inside buildings.
Ammunition options include anti-armour, anti-structure, multi-role, anti-personnel rounds as well as smoke and illumination support rounds.
According to Saab, more than 40 countries have purchased the Carl-Gustaf system.
Denmark’s armed forces have operated the Carl-Gustaf, referred to locally as Dysekanon, since the 1970s and added the latest M4 model to their inventory in 2022.
Around this time in 2024, Saab Australia secured a contract to provide local through-life support for the Australian Army’s fleet of 84mm Carl-Gustaf M4.
Additionally, in June 2024, Saab finalised terms with the Polish Armed Forces for an unspecified quantity of Carl-Gustaf M4 systems at a cost of Skr13bn ($1.4bn), following an initial announcement on 4 March 2024.
