Patria has announced a renewal of its strategic partnership agreement with Finnish Defence Forces, which will ensure that military aviation equipment, naval defence systems, and command systems remain operational in all security situations.
The company’s president and CEO Esa Rautalinko and Finnish Defence Forces Logistics Command Chief Major General Tero Ylitalo signed the new agreement.

The strategic partnership is the “deepest form of cooperation” established between the Finnish Defence Forces and industry. It secures critical services and capabilities on a long-term basis.
“To ensure continuity of operations in a changing environment is an important part of strategic partnership. The partnership agreement that has now been signed supports this objective,” Major General Tero Ylitalo said.
Patria’s collaborative relationship with the Finnish Defence Forces began over hundred years ago.
Since the early 2000s, the Finnish Defence Forces have established similar partnerships with several companies to combine defence expertise with that of the domestic industry.

In addition to its partnership with Patria, the Finnish Defence Forces have established partnerships with multiple companies and maintain a training partnership with the National Defence Training Association of Finland (MPK).
Collectively, these agreements form part of Finland’s broader national defence system.
In October 2024, the Finnish Defence Forces announced intentions to procure a new modular 120mm mortar system from Patria.
The nation is projected spend a total of $37bn on defence during the 2024–28 period, according to GlobalData’s “Finland Defence Market 2023-2028” report.
