This facility is set to equip the Qatar Armed Forces with advanced UEW operational tools, reinforcing their defence infrastructure.

The partnership between ELT Group and the Qatar Armed Forces was first indicated in March 2024, through a Letter of Intention (LOI).

The signing of the LOI took place at the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2024).

This outlined their shared objective to work on strategic ventures within the electromagnetic spectrum operations sphere, particularly focusing on the development of a UEW and Intelligence Centre.

ELT Group CEO & COO Domitilla Benigni said: “this contract represents a very important result, both in economic terms and for what concerns our positioning in the area. It’s also a confirmation of a solid friendship and long-term cooperation with the Qatar Armed Forces.

“For the first time in Qatar our company takes on the role of prime contractor and lead system integrator, and this makes us particularly proud of the trust that such and advanced end user has placed in ELT Group. There is also the fact that the contract was signed on the day Qatar celebrates its National Day, which makes the event even more special.”

This development underscores the ongoing partnership and commitment between ELT and the Qatar Air Force.

Since establishing a commercial presence in Qatar in 2017, ELT Group has been actively supporting various national programmes, leveraging its expertise in Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations to support the country’s military objectives.

Additionally, ELT Group has recently achieved the ISO 31030 travel risk management certification from RINA, positioning itself as the third Italian company to earn this recognition.
