The MRM uses an autonomous seekers system consisting of an infrared camera that takes around 30 images per second of the view ahead and uses a computer that recognises the shapes of objects.

It can identify tanks, trucks and buildings, aiming for the target’s most vulnerable area.

With a potential range of 12km, the MRM will be used by Abrams tanks and the Future Combat Systems Mounted Combat System after 2015.
