Architecture and Engineering Occupations, with a share of 15% new job postings, was the occupation with the greatest hiring activity in the Asia-Pacific aerospace, defence and security industry in Q1 2024 , ahead of Computer and Mathematical Occupations with a 13% share of new job postings.

The other prominent roles included Management Occupations with a 9% share in Q1 2024, Office and Administrative Support Occupations with a 6% share and Business and Financial Operations Occupations with a 5% share of new job postings.

Top five companies accounted for 54% of hiring activity

General Electric posted 1,066 jobs in Q1 2024 and registered a growth of 34% over the previous quarter, followed by RTX with 727 jobs and a 27% growth. Airbus, with 583 jobs, and BAE Systems, with 561 jobs, recorded a 38% rise and a 17% drop, respectively, while Thales recorded a 51% increase with a 522 new job postings during Q1 2024.

India held the leading share of the Asia-Pacific aerospace, defence and security hiring activity with a 55.79% share, an 11% increase over Q4 2023. Australia was next with 14.70%, four-percentage-point up over the previous quarter.
