As well as day and night detection systems, the weapon stations include a multi-threat detection system (MTDS), capable of detecting, categorising and pinpointing laser, radar and RF sources.
Elbit Systems Land and C4I Tadiran general manager Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis said Elbit’s selection was a breakthrough for the company, propelling it into an emerging international market emanating from a shift in the modern battlefield.
The new stations are based on Elbit Systems’s expertise and combat proven fire control systems, drive systems and electro-optic systems.
The systems will be delivered during the next four years.
The contract was signed between Elbit Systems and Iveco, a subsidiary of the Fiat Group and prime contractor for the programme.
